Jeff DeGroot (born September 2, 1985) is an American retired soccer player. Son of John “Dutch” DeGroot and Jan DeGroot with two older siblings Joseph, John. His father being a Graphic artist and mother an IT specialist. Born in Chicago Illinois brought up in Mount Prospect Illinois where he started to play soccer at the age of four. He continued playing on various clubs in suburban Chicago. DeGroot played soccer for Prospect High School almost immediately going to the varsity team in his freshman year.
DeGroot was signed by Dayton Dutch Lions in February 2012.[1]
DeGroot has coached extensively throughout the Chicago area.[2]
He is currently a video analyst for Major League Soccer club Chicago Fire.[3]
